| How does it work? |
The TacTrack intercepts the electrical pluses being sent to the tachometer. These pulses are recorded and saved for later playback. |

| What is Data Play Back. |
A recorded race is played back on your tachometer just as the race unfolded in 1 to 1 time. You can playback any race in any order that has been recorded. Compare one race with another by watching one race after the other. See if your machine is reaching the level of performance you desire. Race data is saved until you erase it. |

| What are the Power Requirements? |
The TacTrack needs from 9 to 15 Volts of DC power to run. The 9.6 Volt NiMH Battery that comes with the kits can be used to run the TacTrack during playback without starting your sled. Once the sled powers up, or power from the external battery is applied, the TacTrack instantly turns on. The sled and external battery can power the unit at the same time.
The unit will enter a low power sleep mode if the TacTrack does not sense pulses on the line in from the ECM (or motor). This will help preserve the external battery. The unit will wake up if tachometer pulses are detected or a button is pushed. This sleep mode will slowly drain the battery over a day or two, so it is recommended that the battery be shut of with the switch provided on the cable harness. |

| Can it use external power? |
The TacTrack Kits are sold with a NiMH battery and charger. The NiMH batteries perform better in the cold temperature and do not need to be discharged before charging to preserve the batteries life.
The cable harness comes with a water resistant toggle switch to power on and off the TacTrack using the battery. |

| How do I connect it to my sled? |
The wire that supplies the electrical pulses to the tachometer needs to run through the TacTrack. This is done by cutting this wire, placing snap connectors on the cut wire ends and connecting them to the TacTrack wire harness. For Ski-doo sleds only, cut the tachometer power wire and place a couple of snap connectors on the ends and connect the tachometer power in wire and connect it to the cable harness power out wire. This needs to be on Ski-doo sleds to provide power to the tachometer during playback without running your sled.
If you want to remove the cable harness from your sled, the snap connectors are there to easily reconnect the wiring. |

| How do I mount it to my machine? |
You will need to mount the recorder on your machine where you can access it before a race. To start recording, you must press a button. There are no mounting holes in the TacTrack. Each unit comes with a strip of Velcro and a mounting bracket comes with the kits or is available separately. It is recommended that you do not rely only on the Velcro to hold your unit in place (extreme cold can make the glue on the back of the Velcro fail). The mounting bracket or a nylon tie is recommended to help secure the device. |

| Will it work on my machine? |
The RPM8000 TacTrack will work with any tachometer that accepts pulse for 0-12 Volts. The recorder records the pulses and plays them back.
The RPM8000 TacTrack has been fully tested on Ski-doo snowmobiles up to 2007 (Support for 2008 coming soon) and Polaris snowmobiles up to 2008. Testing is currently in progress on Arctic Cat snowmobiles. |

| Will the factory tachometer and other instruments work if a TacTrack is installed and in use during a race? |
| The TacTrack is designed to work with factory instruments. The factory tachometer will work with the TacTrack connected just as it did before connecting the TacTrack. One of the best features of a TacTrack is that you can playback your race on the factory tachometer while your engine is off. |
