ShiverShield – Are You Still Cold? This Will Do It
ShiverShield Founder and Developer, Brian McFarlane, read my article “Bikers and Motorcycles: Keeping out Cold, Wind, and Rain.” (http://www.born2razehell.com/Out of My Experience/3720AAC7-4575-41BB-8ED9-D57F8CACC8CB.html) What I described there is what he calls his specialty gift to the world of freezing people. Although their current garments are for hunters and people who spend the day in low temperatures, they are useful as cold weather garments for MOTORCYCLE and snowmobile RIDERS. Okay, so there are a million applications for this purpose. What is the big deal about this one? Well, here it is. Take note. What sets them off from others is the insulation they use. It was developed for NASA and its astronauts deep in space in freezing temperatures and Special Ops. It has NEVER BEEN USED IN ANY KIND OF COMMERCIAL APPLICATION BEFORE. So this is a brand new technology that is becoming available. IT IS 40 TIMES MORE INSULATIVE THAN FIBERGLASS INSULATION!! And is 2-8 times warmer than the most common kind of loft insulations used in clothing on the market!! Their garments have 3 thin layers: one fleece, one outer shell, and in the middle is sandwiched the QUEEN MOTHER OF ALL INSULATIONS – ZERO-LOFT, the heart of their thermal retention products. 100% wind and water proof (while allowing the moisture vaper to escape through the material). They are soft, light, and thin. So movement is easy, and bulky clothing is not needed for the motorcycle rider. This is a new technology that is about to spring into the market. “Zero-Loft is absolutely the warmest insulation per unit thickness that is available for commercial use in clothing with no exceptions.” It is the best insulation in the world today and is THE NEXT BIG THING. What I described in my article about covering the chest and waist is how they make their garments. In particular, they are currently making VESTS that fit under jackets and will soon have INSOLES for boots with the same technology. More things may be coming as well.
